L ast night my friend was very upset. One of her staff members had called in sick for the next morning. She herself had a very busy day of meetings and an overwhelming backlog of work to complete. It was close to midnight and she had exhausted all her possible options to fill the shift. She told me she was going to have to go into work for 7am to fill the busy part of the shift herself and her final meeting would be at 6pm. She would have to put in a 12 hour day right after having to work through her weekend due to throwing her staff a holiday party and having to attend a day long training session on her usual days off. She was holding back tears; exhausted. My friend is the hardest working person I know. Once I imagined it, no other seemed to spark joy in me. A few months ago, inspired by an Instagram picture, I decided I would like to begin collecting a few minimalistic style gold rings. I had a few specifications immediately: they must be high quality, they can’t be too expensive and they must spark joy in me. After purchasing a couple plain gold stacking rings I was ready to invest in a more substantial piece. After searching the internet, markets and a few jewelry stores I began to piece together exactly what this ring should look like through continuously finding what I did not want. Now, that you have your goals down on paper , we are going to start calling them to us!  Step One : We are going to begin with changing your brain waves to the coherent Alpha or Theta waves. There are different ways to accomplish this. Personally I have found Binaural beats , and breathing exercises very effective. The goal is to enter a relaxed trancelike state. Vive La Résistance! When I think about resistance, that saying is among the first things that comes to mind. Nazi fighters. People actively fighting against evil forces. So when I looked into why my life wasn’t perfect law of attraction manifesting bliss despite everything I’ve been practicing, and the word resistance kept popping up, you can imagine the confusion. Why would anyone fight against what they were trying to manifest? I’ve heard about (and seen) people self-sabotaging. A lack of self-worth motivating them to unconsciously block their own success but as far as I could tell, that wasn’t my issue. I was in a joyous place (alignment), feeling the emotions of having as often as possible, certain I deserved it and knowing it was going to appear any day now. Months went by and I tried harder, and harder...and still nothing. There must be something I was overlooking and forgetting. Time to go back to the books.
